Enabling better investment decisions
Home -> Finance Training Overview -> Making Good Investment Decisions
Companies that thrive are companies who invest well for the future. Whether in boom times or in recession, healthy companies continue to invest. The key is to do so on well founded analysis and assumptions.
It is increasingly important for non financial managers to play a strong role in identifying potential investments. Non financial managers need to up skill to be able to construct a business plan and carry out initial financial assessment. All managers need to understand the tools and the jargon, and must acquire the skills to communicate good investment proposals to a wider audience.
You will be able to construct and present an investment business case using the standard financial tools that a board, bank or other funder will expect. You will also develop the skills to examine investment proposals systematically and ask the right questions to critique the business plans you are presented with.
We examine the investment decision making process, from initial identification of opportunities through developing the business case, and establishing good governance procedures to make sure that the investments delivered the promised benefits.
In the current downturn, companies risk missing out on major investment and expansion opportunities if their managers lack the skills to react to opportunities. This module is now even more important than ever.
